DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE: Cpl. S.A. Sommers responded near the intersection of State Route 20 and Bailey Hollow Road in reference to a single vehicle accident. The officer located the driver of the vehicle near the trunk. Upon contact, the officer noted the male had the odor of alcohol on his breath, appeared to have glassy and bloodshot eyes, and a small cut above his eye. The male also allegedly had slurred speech. The male failed two field sobriety tests and allegedly refused to provide a breath sample. The male requested transport to the Princeton Community Hospital to be treated for his injuries. The officer requested the hospital obtain two vials of the man's blood for testing by the state police crime lab. After he was released, Karl Hale, 23, of Princeton, was arrested.
