Bluefield, Tazewell police blotter Aug. 17-26

BLUEFIELD — TAZEWELL COUNTY SHERIFF

Between the dates of Aug. 17, 2013 and Aug. 23, 2013 the Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office made 29 arrests, issued seven traffic tickets, worked six traffic accidents, responded to 166 calls, served 331 civil papers, supervised inmates who picked up 96 bags of trash, handled 26 animal complaints, impounded 19 animals and responded to one animal attack.

AUG. 23

THEFT: Officers received reports of a theft on West Cumberland Road at 3:58 a.m. No further information about the call was logged.

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT: Officers received reports of a motor vehicle accident on Maryland Avenue at 10:53 a.m. Officers filed a crash complaint report.

THEFT: Officers received reports of a theft on West Cumberland Road at 3:58 p.m. Officers filed an offense report.

FIGHT: Officers received reports of a fight on West Cumberland Road at 4:02 p.m. Officers transported three females to the station.

FIGHT: Officers received reports of a fight on College Avenue at 7:38 p.m. Officers advised complainants of their options and released the juveniles to their parents.

AUG. 24

FIGHT: Officers received reports of a fight on College Avenue at 12:35 a.m. Officers advised complainants of their options.

FIGHT: Officers received reports of a fight on Cumberland Road at 2:38 a.m. Officers filed an offense report.

LOUD MUSIC: Officers received reports of loud music on Hill Avenue at 2:39 a.m. Officers advised complainants of their options and said the subjects agreed to keep the music down.

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT: Officers received reports of a motor vehicle accident with no injuries on Bland Street at 12:23 p.m. Officers filed an offense report and arrested one male subject.

UNWANTED PERSON: Officers received reports of an unwanted person on East Cumberland Road at 12:45 p.m. Officers advised complainants of their options and said the subject left the area.

PURSUIT: Officers reported a pursuit on Grassy Branch Road at 5:48 p.m. Officers filed an offense report and arrested two male subjects.

ASSAULT: Officers received reports of an assault on South Spring Street at 9 p.m. Officers advised complainants of their options but said the victim refused to press charges.

BREAKING AND ENTERING: Officers received reports of a breaking and entering on Cherry Street at 9:42 p.m. Officers advised complainants of their options.

SHOTS FIRED: Officers received reports of shots fired on College Avenue at 9:42 p.m. Officers reported the sound was actually fireworks and advised complainants of their options.
