Tazewell and Bluefield police blotters June 29 - July 8

BLUEFIELD — TAZEWELL COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

Between the dates of June 29, 2013 and July 5, 2013, the Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office made 38 arrests, issued 11 traffic tickets, worked three traffic accidents, responded to 216 calls, served 226 civil papers, and supervised inmates who picked up 122 bags of trash.

BLUEFIELD POLICE DEPARTMENT

JULY 5

LEAVING THE SCENE: Officers received reports of a vehicle leaving the scene of an accident on Scott Street at 1:30 p.m. Officers advised complainants of their options.

ABANDONED ANIMAL: Officers received reports of an abandoned animal on South Spring Street at 2:47 p.m. Officers transported the animal to its residence.

BURGLARY: Officers received reports of a burglary on Princeton Avenue at 3:50 p.m. Officers filed an offense report.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON: Officers received reports of a suspicious person on East Cumberland Road at 5:45 p.m. Officers advised complainants of their options and released the juvenile to parental custody.

DRUG ACTIVITY: Officers received reports of possible drug activity on Kidd Street at 6:17 p.m. Officers advised complainants of their options and reported there was no drug activity.

SHOPLIFTER: Officers received reports of a shoplifter on East Cumberland Road at 9:04 p.m. Officers advised complainants of their options.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON: Officers received reports of a suspicious person on Vineyard Street at 9:41 p.m. Officers reported the individual lives on the street.

FIREWORKS: Officers received reports of fireworks on Carey Street at 9:51 p.m. Officers advised complainants of their options.

SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE: Officers received reports of a suspicious vehicle on Altamont Drive at 10:52 p.m. Officers filed an offense report and arrested one female subject.

JULY 6

INTOXICATION: Officers received reports of an intoxicated person on Cumberland Road at 2:04 a.m. Officers filed a complaint report.

BARKING DOG: Officers received reports of a barking dog on Washington Street at 6:34 a.m. Officers reported the dogs were not barking.

GAS DRIVE OFF: Officers received reports of a gas drive off on Princeton Avenue at 1:57 p.m. Officers advised complainants of their options.

DISPUTE: Officers received reports of a landlord and tenant dispute on Locust Street at 4:13 p.m. Officers reported the issue was resolved and advised complainants of their options. Officers were called back to the address on a disturbance call at 6:43 p.m. and reported the issue was resolved.

VANDALISM: Officers received reports of vandalism to a residence on Pen Mar Avenue at 4:37 p.m. Officers advised complainants of their options.

INTOXICATION: Officers received reports of an intoxicated person on Balsam Street at 8:45 p.m. Officers filed an offense report and had the subject transported via Bluefield Rescue Squad.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON: Officers received reports of a suspicious person on Hill Avenue at 9:57 p.m. Officers advised complainants of their options and reported nothing had been taken from the vehicle.

ASSAULT: Officers received reports of an assault on College Avenue at 10:40 p.m. Officers advised complainants of their options and have a report pending.

DRUG ACTIVITY: Officers received reports of possible drug activity on Lee Street at 11:17 p.m. Officers reported there was no activity and advised complainants of their options.
