Princeton Police, Mercer Sheriff blotters Jan. 9-15

PRINCETON — Jan. 15

AGGRAVATED DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE: Lt. E.T. Pugh and Ptlm. J.L. Faris were on patrol when they observed a vehicle traveling in the turn lane of Stafford Drive. The vehicle in question also did not activate its headlights. The officers initiated a traffic stop on Courthouse Road and the vehicle complied. Upon speaking to the driver, the officers observed the odor of alcohol on his person. The male driver allegedly admitted to having seven beers. The male subject allegedly failed two field sobriety tests. Chemical testing showed the male's blood alcohol content to be 0.166. Jeffrey Weaver, 44, of Bluefield, was arrested.
