DRIVING REVOKED FOR DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE; FLEEING IN A VEHICLE; PROBATION VIOLATION: While on patrol on Karnes Avenue, Lt. K.T. Compton and Sgt. T.A. Gray drive through a stop sign at the intersection of Karnes Avenue and Mahood Avenue. The officers observed the male driver pick up speed and drive through the stop sign at Karnes Avenue and Honaker Street. The officers then "initiated the blue lights" and radioed Ptlm. B.E. Grimm that the vehicle was attempting to flee. The driver then stopped on Lower Bell Street. The officers later learned that the male subject was allegedly operating the vehicle with a revoked license. The passenger of the vehicle was found to be carrying a substance believed to be marijuana and on probation. Richard McKinney, 31, of Princeton, and Melvin Dunham, 25, of Princeton were arrested. McKinney was charged with Driving Revoked and Fleeing. Dunham was charged with a probation violation.
FLEEING ON FOOT: During a patrol, Lt. K.T. Compton and Sgt. T.A. Gray were on patrol on Lower Pine Street and observed the odor of marijuana coming from a group of nearby juveniles. The officers approached the juveniles and one allegedly fled toward nearby woods. Allegedly, the male threw something while running. The officers chased, caught and detained the male. The officers then asked why he had run. The male allegedly replied that he had a "blunt" and asked what the officers expected him to do. The juvenile was turned over to a guardian.
PETIT LARCENY: A female subject reported her weedeater had been stolen from her home on Highland Avenue.
UNDERAGE CONSUMPTION: Ptlm. J.D. Halsey responded to Kroger in reference to a vehicle behaving erratically. The officer located the vehicle in the parking lot of Schewels. The officer spoke with the driver and observed the odor of alcohol coming from the driver. The officer requested the male's driver's license and found him to be under the age of 21. The driver also allegedly advised that he had been drinking. Kenneth Bosewell, 18, of Princeton, was cited.
