BLUEFIELD POLICE DEPARTMENT



Nov. 16

SECURITY: A security check was made 1:31 a.m. at Lotito park. Subjects left the park after Patrolman D.A. Lambert advised them to do so.



KEYS STOLEN: A female subject reported 2:03 a.m. that a male subject had stolen her car keys at the Joy Mart on Bluefield Avenue. The male subject was advised to stay away from the complainant, but he was arrested following a second call at 4:39 a.m. Detective A.B. Palmer and Patrolman D.A. Lambert investigated.



THEFT: A lap top computer was reported stolen at 1000 Highland Avenue. Patrolman J.W. Murray Jr. took the report.



THEFT: Cell phone was reported stolen at the Joy Mart. Patrolman J.W. Murray Jr. investigated.



THEFT: Hub caps were stolen off a vehicle parked at Bluefield Regional Medical Center lot number 8. Patrolman R.D. Davis investigated.



CRASH: Minor damage was reported after a crash on U.S. Route 460 near the former St. Luke’s Hospital. The drivers exchanged information. Patrolman J.W. Murray Jr. investigated.



LIGHTS: Church lights were going on and off at Thorn Street, but it turned out to be a faulty porch light. Patrolman J.W. Murray Jr. investigated.



SHOT REPORTED: Mercer County 911 received a report of a gunshot near McDonald’s on Bluefield Avenue. Patrolman R.D. Davis, Patrolman J.W. Murray Jr. and Lt. D.A. Pennington checked the area. Nothing was located.



HIT & RUN: A hit and run was reported at Bluefield Intermediate School. Patrolman R.S. Gibson filed a vehicle complaint report.



DISTURBANCE: A subject creating a disturbance was reported at the Kmart on Cumberland Road. Patrolman R.S. Gibson advised the subject of options. The subject left the premises.



PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT: Patrolman A.L. Crook investigated after a pedestrian was struck 3;42 p.m. by a vehicle at Bluefield High School off Cumberland Road.
