PRINCETON POLICE



Oct. 16

• GRAND LARCENY, DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: Ptlm. J.D. Halsey responded to a report of vehicle vandalism at South Second Street. The complainant reported that an unknown suspect entered the fenced area and broke into one of the courier vans used to transport tobacco. Halsey observed that someone used a blunt object to break the back window of the van.

• BURGLARY: Ptlm. D.A. Weatherly responded to a breaking and entering call on Straley Avenue, where a woman reported someone broke the glass out of the back door to her apartment and stole some of her personal belongings.

• ATTEMPTED BREAKING AND ENTERING: Ptlm. W.M. Bradley took a report from a woman who reported she arrived at Roses to open the lawn and garden section and found a shovel sticking between the two glass panels of the door. A hacksaw and a pair of garden clippers were also present, but the door had not been opened.

• PETIT LARCENY: Ptlm. C.S. Winkler was dispatched to Princeton Senior High School, where a complainant reported three cell phones were stolen from the locker room on Oct. 15.

Oct. 17

• BREACH OF PEACE, OBSTRUCTING AN OFFICER, DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: Officers responded to a disturbance in progress on South Avenue. The owner of the residence reported that she had gotten into an argument with her son, who slammed the door of the residence and broke the window. Ptlm. J.D. Halsey reported that the son was intoxicated and refused to leave the residence. Jessie Radford, 39, of Princeton, was arrested.

Oct. 18

• PETIT LARCENY: Ptlm. E.T. Pugh responded to Grant's Supermarket, where a brown purse was recovered on the west side of the parking lot. The owner of the purse was still inside shopping when the purse was recovered. She reported that an inner change purse and cash were missing.

• BREAKING AND ENTERING, GRAND LARCENY, DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: A complainant reported someone broke into Kimz Pet Express. Lt. P.W. Hill investigated and found that someone gained entrance to the building by prying the bottom off of a back door. There was significant damage to the business and merchandise. Some reptiles were reportedly taken; others were released from their containers. Someone also allegedly poured shampoo into fish tanks, killing everything inside.

Oct. 20

• POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: Lt. K.T. Compton reported seeing a man standing in the 800 block of Mercer Street. Knowing the man to be on parole and under curfew restrictions, the officer stopped to speak with him. Upon doing so, Compton reported smelling marijuana on the man's breath and locating a small bag of marijuana in his left, front pants pocket. Eddie Washington, 33, address unknown, was arrested.

• BURGLARY: Ptlm. D.B. Whited responded to Princeton Avenue, where a burglary was reported. The complainant reported someone entered his home and stole a X-Box game console and several video games. Charges were pending further investigation.

• LARCENY: Ptlm. M.B. Gergely responded to Big and Small Lots, where a complainant reported someone took her purse from the top of her shopping cart. The woman said a man approximately 30 years old and rough looking bumped into her just before she noticed the purse missing. The complainant reported the man was either Latino or African-American and was wearing a red baseball cap, blue striped shirt and baggy jeans when she encountered him.
