June 25

• FAILURE TO APPEAR, NO OPERATOR'S LICENSE, NO INSURANCE: Ptlm. B.E. Grimm arrested Roger Lee Thornton, 31, of Princeton, on a failure to appear warrant on the listed charges.

• WARRANT FOR PROSTITUTION: Lt. P.W. Hill received information that the West Virginia State Police had an outstanding warrant on Maria Day, 31, of Lashmeet, accusing the woman of prostitution. The woman was reported in the Mercer Street area and was arrested on the warrant.

June 26

• SHOPLIFTING: Ptlm. J.D. Halsey received a call in reference to a shoplifter at Dollar General Store on Stafford Drive. The complainant reported she observed a white female in a white shirt and blonde hair put multiple objects in her purse without paying for them. The woman denied taking the objects, but Halsey reported finding the Aussie shampoo, conditioner and hair spray and a list of other cosmetic items in the purse. Heather Lawrence, 21, of Princeton, was cited for shoplifting and released.

• BREACH OF PEACE: Ptlm. W.M. Bradley and Ptlm. E.T. Pugh responded to Springhaven Drive, where several subjects were reported fighting in the roadway. Sgt. W.J. Gilley had previously responded to the scene and advised a man and woman present to leave the area. When officers arrived on the second report, they spotted the male suspect walking away on foot. Raymond Reed, 33, of Lashmeet, was arrested.

• DOMESTIC BATTERY: Sgt. W.J. Gilley responded to Springhaven Drive in reference to a domestic dispute in progress. The officer located a white Subaru with parties inside. The woman stated she and the suspect were arguing, but she refused further statement. Since the parties appeared to be intoxicated, the officer contacted a wrecker to tow their vehicle and instructed the subjects involved to leave the area.

June 27

• DOMESTIC BATTERY: Ptlm. D.A. Weatherly received a report that there was a domestic dispute in progress on Kee Street. Officers responded and talked with the alleged victim, who stated she and her boyfriend had argued and that he struck her in the right cheek. The boyfriend reported they had argued, but he denied striking her. McKinley Jones, 33, of Princeton, was arrested, based on the woman's report.

June 28

• BREACH OF PEACE: Officers received a report of an intoxicated male on a bicycle on the front porch of a Harrison Street residence. Ptlm. J.D. Lambert responded and located the man, who allegedly said he was going to give the residents “some Moon Pies and cigarettes.” Due to the state of his intoxication, Raymond Chatting, 49, address unknown, was arrested.

June 30

• PETIT LARCENY: Lt. K.T. Compton responded to Princeton Community Hospital, where complainants reported an alarm on one of the crash carts had sounded. When they investigated, the complainants found the cart had been broken into and that the seal along the medication was missing. The security guard detained the patient leaving the room, and Daniel Proffitt, 29, of Bluefield, was allegedly found to be in possession of two vials of medication from the cart. Proffitt was arrested and charged with petit larceny.
