MERCER SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT



April 22

DOMESTIC BATTERY; CHILD ABUSE; DOMESTIC ASSAULT: Dep. R.M. Combs arrested Michael Galliger, 41, of Bluefield, on warrants for the charges of domestic battery, child abuse and domestic assault.

April 24

PETIT LARCENY; CONSPIRACY: Dep. J.D. Ellison arrested Amanda Inscore, 28, of Bluefield outside Bluefield Magistrate Court on the charges of petit larceny and conspiracy.

DOMESTIC BATTERY: Dep. G.C. Paitsel responded to Ryan Village apartments regarding an unwanted guest. The complainant said her son was intoxicated and she wanted him to leave. The subject left. The complainant later said the accused choked her earlier. She refused to cooperate or give a statement on this.

CAPIAS: Dep. J.R. Coburn arrested Steve Gonzin, 48, of Princeton, on a capias warrant.

April 25

MALICIOUS ASSAULT: Dep. W.C. Wilborn responded to a male subject being stabbed at Breeze Hill MHP. The complainant was intoxicated and bleeding. He advised that the person who stabbed him was still in the residence. Those in the residence were cleaning up glass and said the complainant fell backward and broke a glass table. The officer determined the accused and the complainant fought in the bathroom. The accused advised she stabbed the complainant six times with a steel steak knife. Tammy Cecil, 46, of Princeton, was arrested on the charge of malicious assault.

TRUANCY: Dep. J.D. Ellison arrested Cindy Bowden, 33, of Princeton on a warrant for truancy.

DOMESTIC BATTERY: Deputies E.P. Parks and J.R. Coburn responded to a domestic in progress on Thornton Avenue. A subject said his son assaulted him. The son said the accused approached his mom with a clinched fist and the son was afraid she would be hit. The son jumped in between the two, and the situation de-escalated. Later the accused pushed the son next to an oven, causing a burn to the abdomen. Manuel Wayne Brown, 60, Princeton, was arrested on the charge of domestic battery.

CONSPIRACY: Dep. J.R. Coburn arrested Christopher Worrell, 30, of Princeton, on a warrant for conspiracy.

VIOLATION OF DVP: Dep. R.M. Combs arrested Glannon Williams Jr., 37, of Bluefield on a violation of DVP warrant.

BURGLARY; DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: Dep. E.P. Parks responded to a burglary on Stinson Road. The complainant said he had inherited the home from a man who recently passed away. Entry was made possibly by using a screwdriver to jimmy the lock. The room was ransacked. The neighbor said they saw a suspicious male walking in the neighborhood. Due to the ransacking, the officer feels the suspect may be a relative of the deceased who is upset at how the property was willed.

April 26

DISORDERLY CONDUCT; PUBLIC INTOXICATION: Dep. E.P. Parks responded to an altercation in progress with weapons on Duff Hollow Road. The subjects advised it was verbal. The deputy advised them to go home. He responded later to a male cursing and threatening neighbors possibly with a weapon. He allegedly hit an object with a bat. Stephen Mark Williams, 46, of Bluefield, was arrested for disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

April 27

PETIT LARCENY: Dep. A.M. Ballard took a report of a missing purse. The complainant said she forgot to pick up her purse in the break room at Echostar. She later found it missing.

IMPROPER DISPLAY OF REGISTRATION; SIMPLE POSSESSION: A deputy spotted a vehicle with an expired registration on Princeton Avenue. The deputy noted the driver was glassy-eyed, but he didn’t detect an odor of alcohol. The K9 Arrow gave a positive indication of odor of an illegal substance. Flakes of marijuana were found in the floor and seeds and stems were found in the cup holder. Corey Benjamin Bradley, 19, of Princeton, was cited for simple possession and improper display of registration.

DOMESTIC BATTERY: Dep. W.C. Wilborn responded to Kade Hollow Road in reference to a domestic. The complainant said she was physically battered by her husband. She said he hit her on the side of the face and put his hands around her neck. The complainant’s sons said she has mental issues and sometimes hallucinates. They said the subject never placed his hands on the complainant in a threatening manner. Warrants will not be obtained at this time.

DOMESTIC BATTERY: Dep. J.R. Coburn responded to Wolfe regarding a domestic. The complainant said her husband hit her several times. She said she feared for her safety, but didn’t want to pursue charges or a DVP.

April 28

DUI, FIRST OFFENSE: Cpl. S.A. Sommers responded to a report of a suspicious person on Bailey Hollow Road. The subject was banging on the front and back door. The suspect was found later in Athens. He was intoxicated and told to stay home. The officer observed the subject get in his vehicle and back up. Robert Daniel Alderman, 23, of Athens, was arrested n the charge of first offense driving under the influence.

April 29

PETIT LARCENY: Dep. J.D. Ellison investigated a petit larceny at the Lowe’s in Princeton. The complainant said he purchased a pressure washer and put in the trailer attached to his truck before returning to the store. Surveillance video showed dark colored SUV in the lot. A subject in the SUV got out of the vehicle and put the pressure washer in the SUV and drove off.

April 30

WORTHLESS CHECK (X2): Dep. J.D. Ellison arrested Robert Faulds, 37, of Princeton on two counts of worthless check.

PETIT LARCENY: Dep. G.C. Paitsel responded to Larue Street to a complaint concerning a lawnmower. The complainant said his neighbors saw someone knock on the complainant’s door, look around and then take the lawnmower. Another male helped put the lawnmower into a vehicle.

May 1

DOMESTIC BATTERY: Sgt. S. Cary responded to Leo’s Pub on Athens Road in reference to a male causing problems and refusing to leave. 911 advised they received a second call saying the man was involved in an altercation with his wife. Upon arrival witnesses said the accused was involved in an altercation in the bar with an unknown male and told to leave. His wife came to pick him up and he punched her in the face. The complainant had a red and bruised area under her left eye. Willie David Johnson, 39, of Kingsport, Tenn., was arrested on the charge of domestic battery.
