April 24
SHOPLIFTING: Sgt. W.J. Gilley received a call of a male and female shoplifting at the S&S Express. The subject shoplifted the items and left the parking lot. Gilley observed the vehicle in the Godfather’s Pawn parking lot. Patrick Jenkins, 27, of Princeton, was issued a citation for shoplifting.
GRAND LARCENY; CONSPIRACY; DRIVING SUSPENDED; FAILURE TO APPEAR (TWO COUNTS): Sgt. W.J. Gilley responded when the probation department requested assistance on Murdock Street. Upon Gilley’s arrival, a male and a female were on the ground and handcuffed. He was advised one of the subjects had warrants through the circuit court of Mercer County. Anna Conner, 39, of Princeton, was arrested on charges for grand larceny, conspiracy, driving suspended, and two counts of failure to appear.
April 25
BREACH OF PEACE: Capt. P.V. Powell responded to Grant’s Supermarket regarding an intoxicated male. Upon arrival, the subject became belligerent and was arrested. David K. Cecil, 38, homeless, was arrested on the charge of breach of peace.
April 26
FAILURE TO APPEAR; FOLLOWING TOO CLOSELY: Ptlm. D.B. Whited responded to a BOLO regarding a possible drunk driver. Whited located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle. The accused had warrants out for failure to appear through the city of Princeton. Ann M. Coffey, 33, of Upshur, was arrested on the charges of failure to appear and following too closely.
DOMESTIC BATTERY: Ptlm. J.D. Lambert responded to Mercer Street to a domestic in progress. The accused was walking fast, and the complainant was yelling in his direction. The complainant said the accused slapped her with an open hand and threw her against a wall. Carl L. Robbins, 28, of Princeton, was arrested on the charge of domestic battery.
BREACH OF PEACE: Ptlm. D.B. Whited and other officers responded to the town square regarding a report of someone brandishing a weapon. Officers spoke to one subject who was advised to go home due to his intoxicated state. He refused. Roger Butcher, 37, of Princeton, was arrested on the charge of breach of peace.
BREACH OF PEACE: Ptlm. D.B. Whited responded to Highland Avenue in reference to a subject breaking a window to gain access. The complainant said the subject broke the window with an unknown object. The subject didn’t gain access. Officers have responded several times regarding the subject fighting the complainant. The subject was found hiding in the woods and arrested. James W. Harrison, 63, of Princeton, was arrested on the charge of breach of peace.
April 28
DOMESTIC BATTERY: Det. T.A. Gray responded to the Midtown Texaco regarding a domestic that occurred on Ritchie Street.. The complainant said her brother became angry with her and threw her to the ground in front of the residence. The complainant showed her injured wrist and knee. Scott A. Daily, 26, of Princeton, was arrested on the charge of domestic battery.
ATTEMPT TO COMMIT FELONY BURGLARY: Det. T.A. Gray responded to Main Street Apartments regarding an attempted burglary. Witnesses said they observed the accused attempting to gain access to an apartment by prying the door with possibly a screwdriver. The accused told the witnesses that he was doing maintenance work. Dennis Stroud, 34, of Princeton, was arrested on the charge of attempt to commit felony burglary.
April 29
DOMESTIC BATTERY: Sgt. B.R. Woodard responded to an altercation on Knob Street. The suspect and complainant were standing in the road. The complainant said she and the suspect were arguing and he hit her in the face. The complainant’s mouth and lip had blood. Shawn Kanode, 22, of Princeton, was arrested on the charge of domestic battery.
