April 10

• FUGITIVE: Dep. J.D. Ellison arrested Ginger Lee Thomas, 28, of Princeton, on a fugitive warrant from Tazewell County.

• DOMESTIC BATTERY; BRANDISHING: Dep. J.R. Coburn responded to a domestic on Goodwin Chapel Road. The complainant said his nephew had come to the residence where he was straying and raised his voice. The complainant told the accused to leave and not yell. The accused allegedly pulled a large knife and threatened the complainant. The complainant then grabbed the accused’s arm, who then grabbed the complainant by the throat and began choking him. Family members broke up the altercation. The accused said he pulled a knife on the complainant to scare him into not fighting. Tony Ray McCoy Jr., 31, of Princeton, was arrested on the charges of domestic battery and brandishing.

April 11

• WORTHLESS CHECK: Dep. J.D. Ellison arrested Jerry Davis, 33, no address given, on a worthless check warrant.

• DOMESTIC ASSAULT; WANTON ENDANGERMENT; SIMPLE POSSESSION: Dep. J.D. Ellison responded to a domestic in Lashmeet. He spoke to the complainant, who said her husband was tearing the house and pointed a hunting rifle at her. She told the officer she was going to file a mental hygiene and was in fear of him. Dep. W.E. Rose assisted in handcuffing the accused, who was in the house with a gun. Pills were located in the accused’s shirt, and there was no prescription for them. Raymond Clyde Hayes, 59, of Lashmeet, was arrested on the charges of domestic assault, wanton endangerment and simple possession.

• SEXUAL ABUSE BY A GUARDIAN (13 COUNTS): Capt. M.L. Gills arrested Ronnie Lee Harmon, 50, of Hiawatha, on 13 counts of sexual abuse by a guardian.

• DOMESTIC BATTERY; BATTERY ON AN OFFICER; ASSAULT ON AN OFFICER: Dep. J.R. Coburn responded to a residence on Blue Prince Road regarding a domestic. The complainant said he and his son had been in an argument. He told the officer the accused hit him several times and scratched his arm. Deputy Coburn went to the accused’s residence, where the accused allegedly became belligerent and began screaming and cursing at the officer. The accused came at the officer in a combative nature with his fists closed. The officer pepper sprayed the accused, who had a knife attached to the side of his pants. Deputy Coburn attempted to handcuff the accused, but was struck. Troopers arrived on the scene to assist. The officers gained control and arrested Jimmy D. Roberts, 43, of Bluefield, on the charges of domestic battery, battery on an officer, and assault on an officer.

• OBSTRUCTING: Dep. E.P. Parks responded to assist on a domestic battery call on Blue Prince Road. Upon arrival, he heard females arguing on the porch of the residence. He approached the accused and told her if she didn’t live there, she needed to leave. The accused didn’t leave the residence. She then got up and walked to the parking lot, but refused to leave the scene. Tammy Fagg, 46, of Bluefield, was arrested on the charge of obstruction.

April 12

• DUI; NO INSURANCE: Dep. W.E. Rose was dispatched to an accident on Route 52 near Bramwell. Upon arrival, ,the rear of the vehicle was against a tree. The passenger was in an ambulance and the driver was sitting in the passenger seat with the door open. The driver had a strong odor of alcohol. The driver began cursing and said her sister was faking her injury and had sued her before. When asked to exit the vehicle, the driver began staggering. She said she had one drink and refused to take a sobriety test. Margie Mullins, 52, of Iaeger, was arrested on the charges of driving under the influence and having no insurance.

• DUI SECOND OFFENSE; DRIVING REVOKED FOR DUI; OBSTRUCTING: Dep. W.C. Wilborn responded to an accident in Lashmeet. The accused denied driving the vehicle and gave false information. It was found the accused had a previous DUI and had their driving revoked for DUI. Billy Allen White, 20, of Princeton, was arrested on the charges of second offense driving under the influence, driving revoked for driving under the influence, and obstruction.

April 14

• WORTHLESS CHECK: Dep. R.D. Utt arrested Richard Riggs, 35, of Princeton, on a worthless check warrant.

April 16

• TRUANCY: Dep. J.D. Ellison arrested Stacey Whittaker, 33, of Princeton, who turned herself in on a truancy warrant.
