Paul Otis Harry, 95, of 3201 Walters Ave., Bluefield, W.Va., passed away on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012 at The Maples in Bluefield. He was born in Bluefield and was a son of the late Dexter R. Harry and Nettie Newman Harry.
Mr. Harry was a member of the Midway Christian Church in Bluefield, where he was a former deacon and elder. He was retired from Noland Supply Co. and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Paul Otis Harry Jr.; and by several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Myrtle Leona Harmon Harry; son, Jim Harry and wife Gail of Bluefield, W.Va.; brother, Bill Harry and wife Petie of Richmond, Va.; grandchildren, Jeff Harry and wife Kim of Ruckersville, Va., Amanda Harry of North Carolina, Kristen Harry of Charlottesville, Va.; step-grandchildren, Aaron Hicks and Chris Lewis; great-grandchildren, Makenzie Harry and Hunter Rose; step-great-granddaughter, Britney Hicks; former daughter-in-law, Deborah Smith and husband Jim of Bluefield, W.Va.; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Dudley Memorial Chapel in Bluefield, Va. with Pastor Dan Webb officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Millsap, Conner Litton, Chester Bratton, Chris Lewis, Randy Ball and Aaron Hicks.
Friends may visit with the family from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
