FALLS MILLS, Va. —
Zelma L. Mabe Lanier, 77, of Falls Mills, Va., died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center. She was born in Boissevain, Va., and was a daughter of the late Claude R. Mabe and Virginia Sarver Mabe.
She was a former employee for General Telephone Company and First National Bank in Bluefield, W.Va., and retired from Eastern Airlines in Miami, Fla. She was a former member of the Falls Mills Christian Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Charles William Mabe and James Claude Mabe.
She is survived by a sister, Evelyn Perdue of Falls, Mills, Va.; sisters-in-law, Alberta Mabe of Falls Mills, Va., Connie Mabe of Moneta, Va.; nieces and nephews, Christie (Ernie) Szakacs of Bluefield, Va., Maria (Cecil) Tabor of Eastbend, N.C., Jennifer (Tommy) Collins of Pembroke, Va., Cindy Ball of Moneta, Va., Jamie (Will) Davis of Browns Mills, N.J., Karen Mabe of Euclid, Ohio, Wayne (Chris) Mabe of Rock, W.Va., Jeffrey (Anita) Perdue of Cleveland, N.C., Jody (Karen) Campbell of Ronceverte, W.Va.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012 at 12:30 p.m. at the Harry Cemetery in Falls Mills, Va. with Pastor Barry Sarver officiating. Pallbearers will be Wayne Mabe, Jeffrey Perdue, Jody Campbell, Matthew Ball, Gordon Potter and Will Perdue.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until 12 noon at the Dudley Memorial Mortuary in Bluefield, Va.
