NORTH TAZEWELL, Va. — Evaleane Crouse Huskins, 77, of  North Tazewell, Va., went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at  home with her family by her side. Born April 21, 1935 in Tazewell County, Va., she was a daughter of the late Herbert M. and Nora Marie Crouse.

She resided in Baltimore, Md. for fifty years and just recently returned to her roots in Tazewell County, Va. Evaleane will be remembered as a caring daughter, sister, and aunt to her family. She was a compassionate caregiver for her mother for a number of years. She was always ready to lend a helping hand and was known for her love of making crafts and quilting. She was a devoted and faithful servant of Jesus Christ whom she accepted in her life at an early age. She was a member of the Heritage Church in Baltimore and enjoyed making beautiful and outstanding costumes for their Easter and Christmas pageants. She has been faithfully attending Tazewell Family Worship Center since returning to Tazewell until her health prevented her from doing so.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her second husband, Milton Riley; her third husband, Clyde Huskins; and three infant children, Norman Clyde Hurd, James Lee Hurd, and Michael David Hurd.

She is survived by two sisters, Earline Barrett of North Tazewell, Va. and Stella Mae Brewster and husband, Wayne of Pataskala, Ohio; two brothers, Alonzo Crouse and wife, Delores of North Tazewell, Va. and Sidney Allen Crouse and wife, Von of Tazewell, Va.; two nieces, Pamela C. Williams and husband, Dr.  Jeffrey Williams of North Tazewell, Va. and Sherry Rae Hunter and husband, Wayne of Blacksburg, Va.; three nephews, Steven Barrett and wife, Debbie, Jeffrey A. Crouse both of North Tazewell, Va., and Michael Wayne Brewster and wife, Lisa of Columbus, Ohio. She is also survived by her first husband, and the father of her deceased children, Ancil (Buck) Hurd; four great-nephews; two great-nieces; and  one great-great-niece. Also left to mourn her passing are her special friends, Joyce and Earl Nester of Dover, Del., Bob and Claudette Gast of Florida and dear neighbors, Bill and Phyllis Welkner of Linthicum, Md.; special caregiver, Karen Bloom who gave her the best of care and much love. The kind compassionate care given by Wanda Martin, Amanda Ray, and Home Nursing Co., Inc., Heather Duty, and Sharon Duty of Tazewell Family Health made her days much easier.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Sunday, November 18, 2012 at Tazewell Family Worship Center in Tazewell, Va. with the Reverend Lawrence Hayes and the Reverend Don Waddell officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, Va. Pallbearers will be nephews and great- nephews, Steven Barrett, Michael Brewster, Jeff Crouse, Dr. Jeff Williams, Wayne Hunter, Dustin Barrett, Christian Williams, and Tyler Crouse.

The family will receive friends at the Tazewell Family Worship Center on Sunday one hour prior to the service.
