BLUEFIELD — William Timothy Carper, 60, of Bluefield, W.Va., went home to his heavenly father Monday, November 18, 2013 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center, following a short illness. Tim was born in Pearisburg, Va. January 21, 1953. He attended school in Mercer County. Tim has worked at Pipestem, K & W Cafeteria, the City of Bluefield, and Texas Steak House.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Rev. Fred D. Carper, Sr., and Elizabeth L. Carper; his brother, Eddie D. Carper; his granddaughter, Karen A. Hicks; his in-laws, Louis H. Blackwell, John and Ruby Blackwell, Gene Washington, and Terry Hale.
Those left to cherish his loving memories are his loving wife of 36 years, Wanda L. Carper of Bluefield, W.Va.; daughters, Reevie and Obie Willis of Kansas City, Mo., and Becky and Keith Adams of the home; sons, Stacy and Michelle Blackwell of N.C., Bays and Maria Hicks of Bluefield, W.Va., and Roger and Sheril Hicks of Tennessee; three brothers, Rev. Fred D. Carper, Jr. (JoAnn) of Pembroke, Va., Jimmy D. Carper ( Lola) of Columbus, Ohio, and Rev. Joseph L. Carper ( Anna) of Bluefield, W.Va.; two sisters, Vera Hale of Columbus, Ohio, and Elizabeth Washington of Princeton, W.Va.; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins that will miss him dearly.
A viewing will be held Thursday, November 21, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at A.P. McConnell Funeral Home 260 Cherry Street Bluefield, W.Va.
A private funeral service for family only will be held on Friday, November 22, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at A.P. McConnell Funeral Home with Rev. Tyrone Carper officiating.
