Kenneth J. Whittaker, 73, of Monroe Street, Princeton, died Saturday, January 5, 2013, at Princeton Community Hospital.
He was born July 20, 1939, in Princeton, and was the son of the late Walter Frazier Whittaker Sr. and Violet May Holdren Whittaker.
For many years, Mr. Whittaker owned and operated the Roger Street Market, on Roger Street in Princeton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five siblings: Ileen Atkins, Birdie Geordon, Clarence Whittaker, Ralph Whittaker, and Walter F Whittaker Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Earlene Lafferty Whittaker; two children, Kenneth Frazier Whittaker and Bernice Whittaker both of Princeton; four stepchildren, Ted O. Thomas, Tina Tignor, Kathey Martin all the Princeton, and Teresa Thomas of Florida; 10 step-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren; 10 siblings, Gloria and Ronald Ellis, Lloyd Whittaker, Franklin Whittaker, Basil and Shirley Whittaker, Julene and Arnold Sexton, Geraldine and Bill King, Delbert Whittaker, Wayne and Linda Whittaker, Donzie and Carol Whittaker, Danny and Kathy Whittaker; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 11, 2013, from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
Friends may visit with the family Friday from 12:30 p.m. until the service hour at the funeral home.
His family will serve as pallbearers.
