FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — Donald Hugh Smith, 73, of Fredericksburg, Virginia formerly of Welch passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center. Donald H. Smith

Don was born April 15, 1940 to the late George and Lucille Smith. He retired from Walter Grinders in Fredericksburg, formerly employed by Cannelton Industries in Superior, WV and was the owner/operator of Tele-Qwik T.V. Repair Shop in Welch. Following his retirement, Don enjoyed working his part time job with Chancellor Recycling and Convenience Center and at Lee’s Hill Convenience Site. Don attended Ni River Community Church.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Peggy Ann Catron Smith of Fredericksburg; children DeeDee Lewis and husband Bobby of Morgantown, Sandy Kowaleski and husband Vince of McKinney, TX and Brad Smith and wife Amy of Fredericksburg; grandchildren Will, Ashleigh and husband K.D., Lyndsey, Kayleigh, Brady, Nikki, Katelyn,  Haley and Carson; great grandchildren Eva, Brody, Blake, Logan and Emily; brother Bob Smith of Pompano Beach, FL; mother in law Jo Ann Carton of Fredericksburg formerly of Welch; and numerous nieces and nephews.   

He was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Smith and a nephew, Cody Wooldridge.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 14 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.
