Michael Wayne “Mike” Brewster, age 61, of 247 Warden Avenue (Bluewell) Bluefield, WV died on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Born on January 15, 1952, in Bluefield, he was a son of the late Mack and Mollie Proffitt Brewster. He had lived in Bluewell for the past 9 years and was a retired painter. He was a member of the True Vine Fellowship Church in Bluewell. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served in the US Army. Past employee at Big Walker Mountain tunnel. He moved back to WV from Illinois 9 years ago.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Bobby, Junior, George and Robert and one sister Yvonne Crigger.
Survivors: Wife: Jean Macias Brewster of the home. Step-Daughter: Yolanda Lentes of Country Club Hills, IL. Brothers: Steve R. Brewster of Yards, VA, Terry E. Brewster and wife Joyce of Bluefield, WV. Sisters: Regina “Jean” Trapp of Princeton, WV, Nancy Blackwell and husband Don of Bluefield, WV, Sandra Brewster and James “Sonnie” Cochran of Bluefield, WV. 3 grandchildren Rickie Lentes, Nichile Lentes, Jeanna Gilarski. 1 great- grandchild Jordan
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Danny Scott officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Bluefield, VA. Where his nephews and step grandchildren will be serving as pallbearers and the West Virginia Honor Guard will be conducting Military Graveside Rites.
Friends may call on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
