CONCORD, N.C. —
Mr. Larry Edward Osborne, 73, passed away at his home on Wednesday, August 14, 2013.
A memorial service will be held 7 pm on Monday, August 19, 2013 at Harrisburg Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Bill Clevenger. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluefield, WV.
Larry was born on October 9, 1939 in Bluefield, WV, to the late John Henry Osborne and Mary Elizabeth Ratcliff Osborne. He is also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Brenda Jean Chandler Osborne; infant child, Lori Ann Osborne.
Enlisting in 1959, Larry was a Vietnam Veteran, serving two tours of duty in the U.S. Navy. He was a Petty Officer First Class-Seaman on the USS Boxer when Honorably Discharged February 1, 1967 after earning the Armed Forces Expeditionary-Dominican Republic, Vietnam Service, National Defense Service, Navy Union Accommodation, and Good Conduct Medals.
Larry worked for National Electric Coil of Bluefield, before moving to NC and retired from Jenkins Electric in Charlotte, NC.
He is survived by his daughter, Tammy Watts and husband Lester; sons, Kevin Osborne and wife Brenda, Jonathan Osborne; brothers, Ralph Osborne and wife Pam, George Allen Osborne and wife Glenda; grandchildren, Marah Rose, Chandler Watts, Sarah Watts, Tyler Osborne, Zachary Osborne, Shane Watts, Nichole Watts; great-grandchild, Bentley Rose.
