Dorothy Maxine Keaton Mann

PIPESTEM — Dorothy Maxine Keaton Mann, 83, of Indian Ridge, Pipestem, went home to meet her Lord and Savior Wednesday afternoon, November 6, 2013 at the home of her daughter, Darlene on Browns Ridge Road in Lerona.

Born October 8, 1930, in Oxley Hollow near Athens, she was the daughter of the late James Howard Keaton and Ruth Wyrick Keaton.

Maxine lived most of her life at Pipestem. She was a great mom to her children and a devoted wife. Maxine worked at the Maidenform, also for many years as a Deputy Assessor at Pipestem and later for Mrs. Gypsi Lane and the late Dr. Charles E. Lane, Sr. Maxine also served as a cook for Halstead Care Home at Nimitz.

She loved taking pictures, talking about genealogies, reading, feeding her birds and squirrels and taking care of her flowers. She was an avid reader of her Bible and a faithful member of Cooks Chapel Baptist Church at Pipestem.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde A. Mann, along with her twin brothers: Clyde and  Carl Keaton and a sister in law, Glenna Keaton.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children and their spouses: Wayne and Sue Mann, Ricky Mann and companion Ruby Goodwin, Darlene and Tony Phillips all of Lerona. Her grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Jessica Mann McPeak and husband Daniel of Athens, West Virginia State Trooper Jacob Mann and wife Ashliegh of Princeton, and Logan Tyler Phillips of Lerona. Special granddaughter, Jeanie Ward of Lerona. Her great-grandchildren, Isabella Grace McPeak, Daisy Lynn McPeak, Mavrik Jace Mann and Kaige. Special great-grandson, Mikie Ward. Sister-in-law, Rosa Keaton of Pipestem.

Maxine leaves behind many wonderful nieces and nephews along with a ton of Keaton cousins.

Services to celebrate the life of Maxine Mann will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Cooks Chapel Baptist Church at Pipestem with Pastor Dallas Peyton Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Keaton Family Cemetery at Pipestem.

Friends may visit with the family Saturday from 11:00 AM until the service hour at the church.

Serving as pallbearers will be Bernard and Eddie Keaton, Bobby Joe and Bobby Sexton, Jacob Mann, Charlie Lane and Charlie Jones.

The Mann family is being served by the Memorial Funeral Directory & Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton.
