Jeanette (“Nette”) Craighead, age 60, of Eckman, WV went to be with the Lord on November 01, 2013 at Welch Community Hospital.
She was born on January 22, 1953, to the late James Craighead, Sr. and the late Mildred Ann Austin Craighead. She attended McDowell County Schools as well as Bluefield State College. She received her nurse’s assistant certification from the Bluefield Multi-Care Center. In addition to working while in Brooklyn, New York, she also worked as a probation and parole officer in Welch and also worked at the DHHR in Welch.
She was of the Baptist faith and was baptized on April 18, 1976 at Mount Ebenezer Baptist, in Algoma.
She had a big personality and a huge heart. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her oldest son, Steven Sherrard Craighead, one sister, Claudia Pearl Craighead (Bill) Wade, one brother. Wallace Jerome (Cokie) Craighead, two nieces, Takesha L. and Stacey D. Craighead–Lipscomb and all of her grandparents.
She leaves to cherish her memory her youngest son, Michael Jermaine (Jackie) Craighead, of Bluefield, WV, three sisters, Mrs. Cora (Kenneth) Robinson of Carswell, Diane and Shirley Craighead, both of Landgraff, three brothers, James R. (Freda) Craighead Jr. of Green Valley, WV, Harry L. Craighead of Eckman and Ronald E. Craighead of Keystone, a brother-in-law, Galvester W. (Claudia) Wade Sr. of Keystone. Grandchildren, Michelle Janece Craighead, Marvin Lamont (Vanita) Dowell Jr. of Bluefield, WV, a great-grandson, Marvin Lamont Dowell III of Bluefield, WV, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and special friends.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday (today), 12 noon, November 8, 2013 at Miracle Mount Carmel, with Sister Ella Helms Officiating and the Rev. Andrew Montgomery Eulogizing. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, on Littlesburg Road.
