WISE, Va. —
William Max Rule, 79, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at the Heritage Hall Health Care in Big Stone Gap, VA.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, a retired parts man from Rish Equipment in Coeburn, VA, his second occupation was an avid golfer. He was a member of the Princeton, West, VA Elks Club and Moose Lodge and he loved people and had a great sense of humor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward James and Mary Jane Crews Rule; and a brother, Bob Rule.
Surviving are his loving wife of 55 years, Nancy Rule; a daughter, Robin Rule Lowery and husband Brian of Roanoke, VA; one grandson, Jacob Underwood; one step-grandson, Christopher Lowery; one step-granddaughter, Ashlee Puckett; one brother, Frank Rule of Marion, Illinois; two brothers-in-law, Donald Harvey and wife Peggy of Newport News, VA and Douglas Harvey of Millboro, VA; two special friends, Charles (Red) Ray of Black Mountain, NC and Gary Cooper of Richmond, VA; and a host of other relatives and friends.
At Mr. Rule's request there will be no services. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Family Support Services, P.O. Box 888, Big Stone Gap, VA 24219.
