Margaret Wright Theodorides

SALISBURY, Md. — In War, West Virginia, on March 21st, 1925, Margaret Wright began her life's journey. She was the daughter of the late Georgia Emma Mitchell Wright and the late Arthur Everett "Boots" Wright. In Salisbury, Maryland, on August 17th, 2013, in her own home, Margaret Wright Theodorides completed her journey on Earth. She was the wife of the late Theodore "Ted" Theodorides of Caretta, West Virginia.

Margaret loved learning and was a proud graduate of Big Creek High School. She began studies at Marshall College (which is now Marshall University) but was sidetracked by her marriage to Ted, who was home on leave following action at Pearl Harbor. Between moving as a part of Ted's Navy career and parenting their daughters, Ann and Myra, it took a little while for her to finish college - 27 years, to be exact. By the time Margaret completed her studies at Glassboro State College (which is now Rowan University) she had earned not only a bachelor's degree, but three master's degrees as well.

It was no surprise when Margaret became a teacher. The last 20 of her 24 years in education were spent working in Washington Township, New Jersey. She progressed from elementary classroom teacher to special reading instructor to Township reading coordinator. Margaret also participated with the Glassboro State College's mentoring program for student teachers. And on three occasions she served as acting principal at Hurffville Elementary School in Hurffville, New Jersey. Her family is proud of her accomplishments as well as her generosity, kindness and wonderful sense of humor. Margaret was a true beauty, inside and out.

Margaret is survived by her daughters, Margaret Ann Masingill of San Diego, California and Myra Jo Forchione of Tucson, Arizona. Grandchildren Margaret "Meagan" Masingill, Daniel Buhrow, Alexis Masingill and Athena Buhrow. Sisters E. Betty Webster and Dorothy Miller of Salisbury, Maryland. "Silster" (her term of affection for her sister-in-law) Thetis Langlet of Sarasota, Florida. Brothers Haven "Buck" Wright of Bristol, Tennessee and Harry Wright of Daniels, West Virginia.

Margaret well understood that family extends beyond the gene pool, and she was loved by an ocean of people. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.

A ministry of comfort and dignity was provided on September 1st, 2013 by Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury, MD, with the Reverend Barry Groh officiating. Margaret will be laid to rest - and finally reunited with Ted - at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA on November 5th, 2013 at 3 PM.
