SWORDS CREEK, Va. — SWORDS CREEK, Va. — Mrs. Lola Ada Bostic Whited Miller, age 98, of Swords Creek, Va., passed away, Tuesday (October 1, 2013) at her home. Born April 19, 1915 in Russell County, Va., she was a daughter of the late, James and Ida Belle Miller Bostic. A lifelong resident of the area, she was a member of Swords Creek Pentecostal Block Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Glen Whited; her second husband, Foster Miller; one daughter, Shirley Miller; four brothers, Stallard Bostic, Howard Bostic, Hobert Bostic , and Floyd Bostic; and three sisters, Jettie Smith, Annie Dye, and Bertha Smith; one half-brother, Odell Bostic;  and one step-son, Eurshall Miller. In her generation, she was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Survivors include four daughters, Lovelee Steele and husband, Earl of Charlotte, N.C., Evangeline Gent of Abingdon, Billie Ruth Cook and husband, Bill of Oakwood, and Glenda Williams of Charlotte, N.C.; nine grandchildren, Randy Steele, Mike Steele, Jeannie Bush, Charles Gent, Jr., Robert Gent, Annie Ball, Melissa Sanders, Linda Carol Fuller, and Glenn Edward Cook; three step-children, Harold Miller and wife, Tenny, Edith Elswick, and Gayleen White, all of Maryland; special nephew, Randall Dye; 17 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Va. with the Reverend Dennis McClemore and Evangelist Bob Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Clark Cemetery at Honaker, Virginia.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 230 Charwood Drive, Abindon, VA 24210 or to a charity of your choice.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.

Honorary pallbearers will be great-grandsons.

Friends may call at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 p.m. Thursday.
