DRAPER, Va —
DRAPER, Va. — Virginia Mae “Ginny” Maloyed Vanhoozier, age 60 of Draper, Va., formerly of Tazewell, Va., died Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at her home. Born November 12, 1952 in Tannersville, Va., she was a daughter of Dorothy Meade Maloyed of Thompson Valley in Tazewell, Va. and the late, Stanley Thompson Maloyed. Ginny was active many years in emergency services. She was an instructor of EMT classes for years and she helped form the Thompson Valley Rescue Squad for her community where she had resided many years. Ginny retired from the Virginia State Police as a dispatcher.
In addition to her mother, Dorothy Maloyed of Thompson Valley in Tazewell, Va.; she is survived by her husband, Brit Vanhoozer; two sisters, Sandy Mulkey and Dottie Lambert; one brother, Earnest Thompson “Thompy” Maloyed, all of Thompson Valley, Va.; 11 nieces, Crysti Hill, Amanda Spruse, Nikki Allison, Leanne Lambert, Martha Smith, Revona McGuire, Amanda Stacy, Teresa Corell, Samantha Hull, Vicky Cruey, and Gwen Adams; nine nephews, Chad Thompson, Trae Lambert, Josh Lambert, James Maloyed, Travis Maloyed, Bud Vanhoozer, Thomas Vanhoozer, Andrew Vanhoozer, and Danny Vanhoozer; numerous great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m., Friday, September 20, 2013 at Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home in Tazewell, Va. where a Celebration of her Life Service will be conducted at 8 p.m.
Interment and committal services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, Va.. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Those planning to attend the committal services are asked to meet at Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home by 10:30 a.m. on Saturday morning.
