OAKVALE — Ethel Whitt “Sis” Waldron, 83, of Oakvale went to be with the Lord and Savior on Monday, December 2, 2013 at her residence after fighting a courageous battle with Alzheimer's.
Born March 15, 1930 in Raysal, W.Va. she was the daughter of the late, Bert Whitt and Laura Rose Whitt. Ethel was a lifelong homemaker who loved taking care of all her family. She had lived in the Oakvale area since 1964.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of sixty one years, Cecil Waldron; and her only son, Ralph William Waldron. Ethel was a loving sister to 17 brothers and sisters.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are four daughters, JoAnne Thomas of Oakvale, who was her loving caregiver, Charlene Nelson of Oakvale, Ronda Small and husband, Thomas of Princeton, and Angie Woody and husband, Keith of Oakvale; five grandchildren, Michelle Jones of Oakvale, Janet Dobbins and husband, John of Evant, Texas, David Nelson and wife, Crystal of Elgood, Robby Pertee of Elgood, and Kenny Nelson and companion, Sherry of Elgood; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. She is also survived by two special nephews very close to her heart, Capt. David Whitt of Port Clinton, Ohio and Randy Whitt of Clyde, Ohio; and her special home health caregiver, Frank Kennedy.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., Friday, December 6, 2013 at the G.E. Davis Chapel of Fredeking. Funeral service in Oakvale with Pastor Kevin Farmer officiating. Private graveside services will be held at the Elgood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until the service hour on Friday. Fredeking Funeral Service in Oakvale is serving the Waldron family.
