LUMBERTON, N.C. —
Dr. Michael Joseph Poletti
LUMBERTON, N.C. — Dr. Michael Joseph Poletti of Lumberton, N.C., passed away at his home on September 1, 2013. Michael, age 50, was born to Elizabeth and Mario Poletti of War, W.Va. After being raised in War, Michael earned his bachelor's degree from Concord College, his MBA from Radford University, and his doctorate in Marketing from Mississippi State. Michael loved teaching and helping his students become successful. He taught business and marketing at several colleges and universities in his 25 year teaching career, the last at Fayetteville State University.
Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Ann; father, Mario; grandfathers, John and Jack; and grandmothers, Maria and Elizabeth.
He is survived by his wife, Karen of Lumberton; brother and sister-in-law, Chris and Bessie Poletti of Hillsville, Va.; stepson, Kyle; and five nephews, Shane of Fairmont, W.Va., Eric and Christopher, of Bluefield, Va., Tanner and Braxton Michael Poletti of Hillsville, Va.

A mass was said at St. Francis Desales Catholic Church in Lumberton, N.C. on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Father John officiated. A family gathering in remembrance will be held in Hillsville, Va. at a later date.
