Vida Mae Wickham
BISHOP, Va. — Vida Mae Wickham, age 92, of Bishop, Va., died Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Carilion Tazewell Community Hospital in Tazewell, Va. She was born June 16, 1921 at Beeson, W.Va. and was a daughter of the late, Henry and Elizabeth Underwood. She had worked as a dietician for Heritage Hall Health Care in Tazewell, Va. for several years, but enjoyed being a homemaker. Her favorite pastimes were spent gardening, quilting and crocheting. She was a member of the Matoka Moose Lodge in Matoka, W.Va. and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mrs. Wickham was of the Christian faith and was a member of Brown's Chapel United Methodist Church in Mudfork, Va.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Kinzie Wickham; sons, Scotty Lee Wickham and Timothy Noel Wickham; daughter, Bobbi Regina Wickham; four sisters and one brother. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Those left to cherish her memory include daughters, Shirley Mae Corson of Bishop, Va. and Carol Ann Warsaw and husband, Richard of Silverspring, Md.; sons, Samuel Byrdine Wickham of Silverspring, Md. and Reginald Kinzie Wickham and wife, Virginia of Rockville, Md.; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; other family members and friends also survive.
Graveside services and Interment for Vida Mae Wickham will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, Va. with Curtis Shrader officiating. There will be no visitation prior to the graveside service.
