BLUEFIELD — Dr. Don “Doc” Springman, 81, of Bluefield, WV, left this world on the morning of Wednesday, August 28, 2013 to be with the love of his life, Carolyn Springman and the Lord.  

He passed away at his home, where he loved to be with his family, Patrick, Michelle, Zacary and Carolyn Springman.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Colleen, Don, Patrick and Sean Springman, and Kathleen Glink; daughters-in-law, Michelle, Tera and Linda Springman; son-in-law, David Glink; grandchildren, Carolyn, Zacary, Stone, Bailey, Laura and Audrey Springman, and John Glink.

Don was born and grew up in Detroit, Michigan. He was a huge Detroit Tigers fan as well as a Michigan State Spartan fan. He loved to play golf and play poker with his friends. Don loved to travel, and for several years he went fishing at the Outer Banks with friends and family. He also enjoyed going on sports weekends with his sons to college football games and got to see his Detroit Tigers play in the World Series.  

Don attended Eastern Michigan University, Case Western Reserve and his beloved Michigan State University. He retired from Marshall University with 30 years of dedicated service. Don was an accomplished local business owner of Baskin Robbins Ice Cream Store and three local motels.

In accordance with Don's request, there will be no public services.

Memorial contributions, if desired may be made to the Bluefield Union Mission, 2203 Bluefield Avenue, Bluefield, WV 24701.
