TAZEWELL, Va. —
Virginia Mae Thompson Page, 92, of Tazewell, Va., died Friday, May 10, 2013 at Carilion Tazewell Community Hospital in Tazewell, Va. Born October 18, 1920 at Burke's Garden, Va., she was a daughter of the late John Harden Thompson and Clara Eleanor Whitman Thompson.
Mrs. Page was a dedicated longtime member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Tazewell, Va. She retired from Southwest Virginia Community College. Mrs. Page was a loving mother and Nana. She enjoyed crocheting. Her days were made more comfortable by the compassionate care given by Alvin Anagan and the medical staff of Carilion Tazewell Community Hospital.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Frances Page Sr.; four sisters and five brothers. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by her son, Jimmy Page and wife, Barbara of Tazewell, Va.; grandson, Jack Lee Page of Abingdon, Va.; special friend, Elmena Repass of North Tazewell, Va.; two nephews and three nieces.
A Mass of Christian Burial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Tazewell, Va. with Father Louis Benoit officiating. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Tazewell, Va. Pallbearers will be Gary Jones, Charles Linkous, Michael Johnson, Richard Blankenship, Phil Kennedy, and Pete Frame.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 13, 2013 at the church where a Christian Wake service will be conducted at 8 p.m.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Theresa's Catholic Church, 304 Tazewell Ave., Tazewell, VA 24651.
