Edith Lucille Roberts Kennedy
JOLO, W.Va. — Edith Lucille Roberts Kennedy, age 91, of Jolo, W.Va., was surrounded by her loved ones in her home as she drew her last breath here on earth and her first breath in heaven.
She was the daughter of the late James Hannibal and Susie Roberts. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She attended the Three Forks Church of God and was a lifelong resident of the Jolo area.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Corby Kennedy; daughter Catherine Keene; sisters Goldie Stacy and Daisey Baker; and one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
Those remain to carry on her spirit are: sons, James C. Kennedy and wife Aleta, of Aldie, Va., Carl Junior Kennedy and wife Martha, of Trinity, N.C.; daughters, Hazel Cline and husband Odis, of Trinity, N.C., Diana Choi and husband Jae, of El Paso, Texas, Shirley Garren, of Jolo, W.Va.; sisters, Vergie Mullins, of Rock Ridge, W.Va., Gladys Cole, of Rock Ridge, W.Va.; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and a host of family of friends also survive her. Edith will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services for Edith Lucille Roberts Kennedy will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 28, 2013 at the Jesus Church of Bartley in Bartley, W.Va., with the Rev. Jesse Estep officiating. Interment will follow at the Kennedy Family Cemetery on Kennedy Mtn., near Jolo, W.Va. Pallbearers will be Bobby Finley, Mike Finley, Kerry Keene, Chris Keene, Johnny Kennedy, Andy Kennedy, Chris Finley, Samuel King, Matthew King, Brian Cline and Benjamin Cline.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday evening at the Jesus Church of Bartley in Bartley, W.Va.
