Bobby “Red” Shrader, 78, of Princeton, formerly of Matoaka, died Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born September 13, 1934 at Matoaka, he was the son of the late Charles Sutton Shrader and Mary Alice Calfee Shrader.
Mr. Shrader was retired from the WV Dept. of Highways after 30 years of service. He also served in the Army National Guard. He was a loving husband and father and loved his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers, Augustas Shrader, Coby Shrader, Harry Shrader, Olen Shrader, Bernard Shrader, Tom Shrader and infant Schoolen S. Shrader; and two sisters, Marie Jenkins and Violet Jennings.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Devella Woolwine Shrader; two daughters, Lila Trent and her husband Jimmy of Iron Station, NC and Stephanie Lawrie and her husband Steve of Raleigh, NC; two sons, Shawn Shrader and his wife Brandy of Princeton and David Parson and his wife Melissa of Lashmeet; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A cryptside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 14, 2013 at the Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Bluewell with Pastor Jerry Heaton officiating. Friends attending the service are asked to meet at the mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
