BLUEFIELD, Va. —
BLUEFIELD, Va. — Leon David Crockett, 70, of 1947 Virginia Avenue, Bluefield, Va., passed away on Monday, September 9, 2013 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Born on May 11, 1943 in Freeman, he was a son of the late, James and Mary L. Honaker Crockett. He was a member of the Harman Masonic Lodge #222 and was a member of the Bluefield Church of Christ. He was a retired electrician.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard Crockett.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Shirley Mitchem Crockett of the home; sons, David Crockett and Margie of Raleigh, N.C. and Ronald Crockett and Becky of Princeton, N.C.; three granddaughters, Denise Crockett of Raleigh, N.C., Karen Crockett of Raleigh, N.C., and Lindsey Kanode of Bluefield, Va.; one great-grandchild, Braylon Doss of Bristol, Va.; two brothers, James Wesley Crockett and Shirley of Winter Garden, Fla. and Donald Crockett and Juanita of Dunkirk, N.Y.; and two sisters, Violet Baldwin and Carl of Nemours, W.Va. and Joyce Fuller and Bob of Canandaigua, N.Y.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, September 13, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with the Reverend Mike Bales officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, Va. where the Harman Masonic Lodge #222 will conduct graveside rites and serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call on Friday from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
