NEWTON, N.J. —
James Edward “Jimmy” Jessee, 78, of Newton, New Jersey, departed this life in a New Jersey hospital Monday, January 20, 2014. He has taken his heavenly flight and is now in the presence of God, in that city of gold, shining so bright, free from all pain and sorrow, in a place where he’ll never grow old.
Born September 10, 1935, in Falls Mills, VA, he was the son of the late Kyle and Louise Buckland Jessee. After their death, Jimmy lived many happy years with his sisters, Catherine of VA and Patsy of Oregon, his brother, Cecil of New Jersey and the last five years in a New Jersey Nursing Home, where he received the best of care. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Helen Louise Jessee.
Left to cherish his memory are three brothers, Richard Jessee and wife Norma of Bluefield, VA, Olin Jessee of Herndon, VA and Cecil Jessee and wife Janet of Baltimore, MD; three sisters, Catherine Leedy and husband Kenny of Newport News, VA, Patsy Higgs of Sutherlin, Oregon and Cecelia Smith and John Spruill of Newport News, VA.
Jimmy always had a smile on his face and never met a stranger. He was always happy, singing and humming to himself.
Graveside services to honor Jimmy’s life will be held Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Grandview Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with Pastor Terry Hodge officiating.
Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday at Dudley Memorial Mortuary in Bluefield, VA from 1:00-1:45 p.m.
