PRINCETON — Karen E. Baldwin, 63, of N. McNutt Avenue, Princeton, died Thursday, January 23, 2014, at Westwood Center in Bluefield, Virginia.

Born July 25, 1950 at Herndon, she was the daughter of the late Orley G. Baldwin and Agness Adell French Baldwin.

Karen was a graduate of Spanishburg High School and Rowan Cabarrus of Nursing in Salisbury, NC. Karen had worked for Jarred Brokerage in Roanoke, VA, also drove tractor trailer across country. Prior to her health issues, she was a nurse with Abernathy Laurels in Newton, NC. She was a member of the Shawnee Baptist Church near Princeton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 8 siblings: Kella Bowden, Neva Davis, Thelma Keys, Mildred Dixon, Virginia Wimmer, Blanche Mills, Kyle Baldwin and Ronald Baldwin.

In her leisure time, she enjoyed writing short stories, was an avid John Wayne fan and was the historian in the family.

Survivor include her siblings, Deborah Atkins with whom she made her home, Frances McKinney and husband Sebert of Kegley, Della Pruett and husband Donald of Rocky Gap, VA, Nada Wimmer and June Thompson both of Princeton, Lois Warren of Maryland, Willis Baldwin and wife Joann of Peterstown and a special nephew, Todd Atkins.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, January 26, 2014 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastors Ron Richards and Chris Richards officiating. Burial will follow in the Bowling Cemetery at Spanishburg.

Serving as pallbearers will be Hayden Wimmer, Donald Swim, Bobby Harris, Shaun Hanshew and Chris Shrewsbury.
