ABINGDON, Va. —
Ada Mae Bales Hill, age 91, of Abingdon, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at her home. Born November 18, 1921 at Swords Creek, Virginia she was the daughter of the late Charlie Edward and Louvisa Hurt Bales. She was a member of New Hope Assembly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Urias Ozias Hill, Sr.; one son, Urias Ozias Hill, Jr.; three brothers, George Bales, Stuart Bales and Jesse Bales; two sisters, Nellie Bales Brown and Frances Bales; one half-brother, Enoch Bales.
She is survived by one son, Steward Wayne Hill, Sr. and wife Linda Carol of Staunton, VA; one daughter, Angela McCoy and husband Roger of Abingdon, VA; one brother, Charlie Balford Bales and wife Doretta of Cedar Bluff, VA; grandchildren, Steward Wayne Hill, Jr., Jeffery Brian Hill and Kenneth Roger McCoy; step-granddaughter, Sonya Farmer of Coeburn, VA; great-grandchildren, Wesley Scott Hill, Lauren Kate Hill and Nicholas Brian Hill; step-great-grandchildren, Tiffany Farmer and Megan Hill; several nieces and nephews and many, many friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Singleton Funeral Service Chapel at Cedar Bluff, Virginia with the Rev. Claudie Throgmartin officiating. Entombment will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Steward Wayne Hill, Jr., Jeffery Brian Hill, Steve Bales, Darrell Bales, James Brown, Josh Wagner. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny McCoy, Collin Wagner and Mark Bales.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 P.M. Friday at Singleton Funeral Service at Cedar Bluff, Virginia.
