Juanita Smith Hager, 95, of Honaker Avenue, Princeton died peacefully Monday evening, October 14, 2013 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center.
Born October 7, 1919, in Bluefield, she was the daughter of the late Arnold Clayton Smith and Josephine Kahle Smith.
Juanita was educated in Mercer County. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and homemaker. While her health permitted, she enjoyed working in her yard and flower beds, she took great pride in her home and her large extended family. Juanita was a member of the First Christian Church on Straley Avenue in Princeton, and a member of the ladies circle. She was a former member of the Green Valley Home Extension Club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Clayton Hager along with two siblings: Mildred Johnston and Ervin H. Smith.
Survivors include her two sons: James Clayton Hager, Jr. and wife Mary Ann, Michael Wayne Hager and wife Donna; four grandchildren: Stephanie Langkamp and husband Ronald, James C. Hager, III and wife Lisa, Mitch Hager, Christopher Hager and wife Becky; great-grandchildren: Samuel Hager, Haven Hager, Wilson Langkamp, Christopher Hager, Nathaniel Hager; three sisters: Frances Eppes, Jean Wells, and Joyce Clarkson, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, October 19, 2013 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor William Pollack officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
Friends may visit with the family Saturday from 1:00 PM until the service hour at the funeral home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
