JEWELL RIDGE, Va. —
Mrs. Goldie Irene Webb, age 82, of the Smith Ridge section of Jewell Ridge, Virginia, passed away Friday, October 04, 2013 in a Tazewell, Virginia hospital.
She was born in Jewell Ridge and was the daughter of the late Ira and Rosa Young Strouth.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a former laundress at Swan's Cleaners in Richlands, Virginia.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Hurley Webb; sisters, Martha and Edith; and brothers, Perry, James, Raymond, and Lee Harland Strouth.
Survivors are: Her husband, Donald Webb; daughter: Ruby Carol Sparks of Jewell Ridge, Virginia; sisters-in-law: Kathleen Webb, Bernadine Webb, and Ruth Meadows; two grandchildren: David Webb and Kimberley Wildman and husband, Shawn; two great-grandchildren: Lauren Wildman and Olivia Wildman. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Goldie Irene Webb will be conducted Sunday, October 6, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Delmar Somoskey officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, Virginia. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday evening and from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoon at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia.
