Ms. Renassa a.k.a. “Lump” Baker

WELCH — WELCH — Ms. Renassa a.k.a. “Lump” Baker, age 40, who resided at 19 1/2 McDowell Street in Welch, W.Va. peacefully departed this life on Monday, September 16, 2013 at her home, surrounded by those she loved.

She was born November 27, 1972 in Welch and the daughter of the late, Wasella “Tiny” Baker and the Reverend Nathaniel Burroughs, Sr. of Kimball. She completed her education at Mount View High School and later attended the McDowell Voc-Tech Center in Welch. She was a member of Royal Kingdom Ministries in Capels, W.Va. where she regularly attended until failing health. For several years, she was a maintenance worker for FEMA.    

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by two of her brothers, Michael and Robert; and her grandparents.   

She will be lovingly remembered by her three children, Deontae’ Baker and fiance’, Portsha Dowell of Princeton, W.Va., Shacara Baker and fiance’, Bobby Mankins of Winston-Salem, N.C. and Ishmyle Sawyers of the home; her fiance’, Charles “Chuck” Mimikos of the home; her second parents, Louise and Rodney Hairston of Kimball; her seven “grand”children, Jovan, MaKenzie, Kayden, Jaiden Arionna, MaKiya and Jazlyn; nine siblings, Anna Collier and husband, James of Kimball, Stonie “Leon” Baker of Baltimore, Md., Regina “Tony” Baker of Bluewell, Veronica “Punkin” Baker of Bluefield, Timothy Alexander of North Carolina, Cheryl Saunders and husband, Bobby of Powhatan, W.Va., Nathaniel Burroughs, Jr. and wife, Cynthia of Kimball, Christine Hayes and husband, Joseph of Premier, and Jonathan Burroughs of Huntington, W.Va.; her special siblings, Robert Bonds of Kimball, Robin Hairston-Goodwin of Harker Heights, Texas and Rodnetta Hairston-Jones of Columbus, Ohio; a host of uncles and aunts; nephews, nieces and cousins; her special friends, Sharon DeShazo of Capels, Gail Wallace-Gregory, Edie Hankins and Selma”Punkin” Swafford, all of Welch and Jeremiah Winn of Bluefield; her Church family and other friends.

A Homegoing Service will be held at 12 noon on Friday, September 20, 2013 at Miracle Mt. Carmel Church of God in Kimball, W.Va. with the Reverend Nathaniel Burroughs officiating, Bishop Arnie Joyce and the Reverend George Masterson will assist and the Reverend Earl Thompson, presiding. Interment will follow in Rest lawn Memorial Gardens, on Rt. 20, Littlesburg Road in Bluewell, W.Va.

Her family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., until time of Service at noon on Friday at the Church.
