NORTH TAZEWELL, Va. —
Donald Carlos Chambers, age 77, of North Tazewell, Va., died Friday, March 8, 2013 at Carilion Tazewell Community Hospital in Tazewell, Va.
Born May 10, 1935 at Raven, Va., he was a son of the late Carl and Mary Bowers Chambers. He was a longtime member of the Church of God.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Rachel Chambers; one son, Roy Chambers; three sisters, Nannie Mae Flannigan, Pearl Innuci, and Helen Poff; four brothers, Andrew Chambers, James Chambers, George Chambers, and Dewey Chambers.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Chambers; one daughter, Amanda Grace Chambers of North Tazewell, Va.; two sons, Raymond Scott Chambers and wife, Tina of Marion, Va. and Kenneth Ray Chambers of North Carolina; daughter-in-law, Lori Chambers of North Tazewell, Va.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, March 11, 2013 at Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, Va. with the Reverend Adam Frye officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, Va. Pallbearers will be Josh Chambers, Roger Smith, Dwight Alley, Raymond Alley, Matthew Chambers, and Scott Chambers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Monday.
