James Donald Pendleton

PRINCETON — James Donald Pendleton, 73, of the Old Oakvale Road, Princeton, died suddenly early Tuesday morning, November 13, 2012 at his residence.

Born January 21, 1939, in Oakvale, he was the son of the late William E. “Billie” Pendleton and Callie Dean Quesenberry Pendleton.

Don attended school in Oakvale. Don was associated with the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton for more than 47 years. Don was a handy man; he put this talent to good use, spending many hours on the Bratton Farm. He enjoyed woodworking and being outside.

Don was a quite person, but he always put his family first and foremost. He will be remembered for being a good husband, a devoted and loving father and a doting grandfather.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Collins Pendleton, and his brother, Billy Wayne Pendleton.

He truly will be missed by his daughter, Tammy Pendleton Stevenson and husband Mark and the person who held the key to his heart, his granddaughter, Megan Sue Stevenson and her two children, Logan Ramey and Ethan Stevenson; nieces and nephews, Allen Pendleton and wife Lynn, Steve Pendleton and wife Angie, Russell Collins, Crystal Garcia, Deborah Hildebrand and April Salyvant.

Don's request has been honored, his body has been cremated. A memorial service to honor Don's life will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday (today) from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Marvin Mills officiating.

His cremains will be entombed in the Chapel of the Wildwood, Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Princeton.

Friends may visit with the family Wednesday from 5:30 until the service hour at the funeral home.
