Benjamin “Ben” Michael Koen

BLUEFIELD, Va. — Benjamin “Ben” Michael Koen, 21, of 112 First St., Bluefield, Va., died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013 in Bluefield due to an auto accident. He was born in Bluefield, W.Va. and is the son of Pastor Bobby Koen and Rita Lewis Koen of Bluefield, Va.

He is a member of the Guiding Light Worship Center in Bluefield, was a graduate of Graham High School and was a former volunteer fireman for the Bluefield, Va. Fire Department.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Willie Lewis and by great-grandmothers, Lula Brooks and Wornie Lewis.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Bradley Koen of Bluefield, Va.; grandparents, Janie Lewis of Bluefield, Va., James and Shirley Koen of Bluefield, Va.; several aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the Guiding Light Worship Center in Bluefield with Pastor Mike Barnett officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until hour of services.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Bluefield, Va. Pallbearers will be Josh Pennington, Trevor Ford, Brandon Riley, Zack West, Justin Riley and Chris Buckner.

Those wishing to attend graveside services are asked to be at the Dudley Memorial Mortuary at  10:45 a.m. Thursday morning.

Dudley Memorial Mortuary in Bluefield, Va. is serving the Koen family.
