RICHMOND, Va. —
Dorothy Lermond Davis Ratliff, formerly of Bluefield, WV and Wytheville, VA, died on May 8, 2013 in Richmond, VA after a short illness.
Born in Woodbury, Kentucky on May 12, 1917 to Mary Bartlett Davis and James Willis Davis, she was sister to Elizabeth Davis and Julian Davis. After graduating from Bowling Green High School, Kentucky, she worked at Henry Clay Coal Camp as a secretary, where she met Ralph Hellier Ratliff. Their marriage lasted for 69 years, until his death in 2006.
She is survived by daughters, Mary Jane French (Jim) of Wytheville, Va., Susan Ann Geary (Bob) of Richmond, Va., and son, Ralph, Jr. (Maxine) of Oakwood, Ga.; grandchildren James French, Jr. (Nan) of Dacula, Ga., John David French of Winston- Salem, NC, and Peter Ratliff French of Wytheville, Va.; Anja Ratliff and Silka Van Donselaar of Atlanta, Ga.; Shannon Weisleder (Travis) of Richmond VA; Kelly Davis of Austin, TX, and 21 great-grandchildren.
Service arrangements will be announced at a later date.
