Nora Frances Wright Lockett, 60, of Bluefield, W.Va., died Sunday, May 5, 2013 at her home.
Born September 16, 1952 in Coalwood, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Duke C. Wright and Elsie Suiter Wright. She spent her formative years in Coalwood, later moving to Bluefield where she lived most of her life. Mrs. Lockett received her Master's Degree in Library Sciences from the University of South Carolina and spent many years as the Library Director at Bluefield College. She was an avid Anglophile and she enjoyed English history. She loved sewing, crafts and reading. She was also a big sports fan and an avid fan of the NHL's Detroit Red Wings.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Edward Wright.
Survivors include her son, Joseph “Jed” Lockett of Cincinnati, Ohio; one sister-in-law, Nancy Wright; stepdaughter, Sarai Lockett; and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends at Mercer Funeral Home on Thursday, May 9, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, May 10, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. from the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mary Lou Mannschreck officiating. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
