BISHOP, Va —
Born June 4, 1922 at Jewell Ridge, Va., she was a daughter of the late Eddie B. Proffitt and Ava Lawson Proffitt. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Mrs. Hagy loved to cook and always wanted to be sure everyone was properly fed and full.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vence A. Hagy; two daughters, Diania Dowell and Vickie Lynn Boothe; two granddaughters, Jackie Lynn Dowell and Marcie Lovett; one great-grandson, Landon Dowell; two daughters-in-law, Linda Hagy and JoAnn Hagy; one son in law, John Smeltzer.
She is survived by four daughters, Peggy McLean, Carol Sue Shaw, Tanya Smeltzer, and Chasity Hagy; five sons, Tommy Hagy and wife, Jan, Roger Hagy, Ricky Hagy and wife, Debbie, Joseph Hagy, and Ritchie Lee Hagy; fourteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Grandview Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel at Bluefield, Va., with the Reverend Jimi Watson officiating.
