Brenda Sue Witt, 64, of Oney Gap, Princeton, passed away Saturday night, May 25, 2013 at Princeton Community Hospital following a short illness with her loving family by her side.
Brenda was born February 4, 1949 in Princeton; she was the daughter of the late Mary Elizabeth Clowers Smith Dillon and Clifton Junior Smith.
Brenda was a graduate of Princeton High School and a member of the Church of Christ on East Main Street in Princeton.
Brenda enjoyed being a homemaker; she enjoyed her sons and all their school activities even helping her husband coach Little League baseball. She never met a stranger who entered her home.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Thomas D. Dillon; a brother-in-law, Russell James Witt; her faithful 4 legged companion, her dog Reece
Brenda leaves behind her husband of 45 years, Gilbert Randall Witt, along with sons: Steven Wayne Witt and Nora; Thomas Gilbert Witt and Lisa; Robert Clifton Witt, grandson Dakota Chase Witt an mother Tina Hale; granddaughter Brenna Lee Witt, step grandchildren: Michael, Lexie, Katherine. Brother Dwight D. Dillon and wife Angie and their family. Sister-in-law, Becky Browning and family of Roanoke, Va., Lois Gail Casey and Buck and family of Monroe, N.C. Aunt Hazel Anderson, Uncle Patrick Clowers and Ginger and her extended family of nephews, nieces and dear friends.
A service to celebrate the life of Brenda Witt will be held 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2013 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Don Dickerson speaking. The family will honor Brenda's request, her body will be cremated.
Friends may visit with the family Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until the service hour at the funeral home.
