PRINCETON — Lucille Vaughan Carter, 97, of Rustic Hill Drive, Princeton, went to meet her Lord and Savior Tuesday evening May 21st 2013 at her home with her loving family by her side.
Born March 21, 1916, at Hiawatha, she was the daughter of the late Walter M. Vaughan and Bessie A. Hall Vaughan.
She was educated in Mercer County and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. While her health permitted she was a very active member of the First Assembly God on the New Hope Road near Princeton.
Her walk with the Lord and her family were very important. She loved reading the Bible, enjoyed sewing, quilting, embroidery and search a word puzzles.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Charlie Albert Carter Sr., along with a son Charlie A. Carter Jr. (CJ), a daughter Margaret Farmer; four brothers: Herman, Ruie, Garth and Little John; a sister Pauline Gensure; four grandchildren; James Vaughan Jr., Larry Farmer and two infant twins.
She will be lovingly remembered by her two sons Dewey Carter and wife Dorothy of Princeton, James Carter Underwood and wife Margaret of Plato, Missouri, four daughters: Charlene Vaughan of Rock, Shirley and Larry Snider of Rock, Beulah and Larry Croy of Princeton with whom she made her home; Patsy and Jim Croy of Princeton. A very special brother Robert Vaughan and wife Edna Mae of Montcalm; 29 grandchildren, including a special granddaughter Sharon Sanders and 24 great-grandchildren, including a special great-grandson, Justin Hill, 21 great-great-grandchildren, and two great-great-great-grandchildren.
We will celebrate the wonderful life of Lucille Carter at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 25th 2013 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Brad Puckett officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton.

Serving as pallbearers will be Waylon Carter, Rick Snider and men of the church.
The honor of serving the Carter family has been given to the Memorial Funeral Directory Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton
