PRINCETON — Robert Blackwell Jr., 71, of East Main Street, Princeton died Sunday, December 1, 2013 at his residence.
Born April 25, 1942, in Wytheville, VA. he was the son of the late, Robert Blackwell and Pauline Vaughn Blackwell. Robert had worked as a coal miner and also Mercer Crusher. He also served in the Army National Guard and attended Faith Baptist Church in Oakvale.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Joyce Downing and Imeagene Pore; and one brother James Anderson.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife of ten years, Eula Mae Harden Blackwell; one son, Kernie Blackwell of Virginia; two step-sons, Tommy Shorter and Dwayne Owens of Princeton; one step-daughter, Linda Rusin of New York; and two sisters, Frances Partlow and husband, Edgar and Thelma Blackwell Simmons, both of Ohio.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory with Pastor Douglas Williams and Pastor Terry Lambert officiating.
The family has honored Robert's request that he be cremated following the services.
Friends may visit with the family Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour at the funeral home.
