POCAHONTAS, Va. —
James Ray Myers, 51, of Pocahontas, Va., passed away Monday, July 15, 2013 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Va.
Born in Dover, Delaware, he was the son of Shirley Green of Pocahontas, Va. and the late James Edward Myers. He was last employed as a truck driver in the mining industry.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by grandparents, Jay and Cleo Woldridge and Ray and Myrtle Myers.
Survivors include his mother, Shirley Green of Abb's Valley, Va.; two sisters, Janet Brown of Pocahontas, Va. and Teresa Sparks of Montana; several uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 18, 2013 at 12:00 noon at the Rodriguez Funeral Home in Pocahontas, Va. with Pastor Shawn Boone officiating. Interment will follow at the Green Cemetery located at 4699 Abb's Valley Road in Abb's Valley, Va.
Friends may call Thursday, July 18, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Rodriguez Funeral Home in Pocahontas, Va.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
