BLUEFIELD, Va. —
Richard Harry Sarver, 73, of 200 Montrose Street, Bluefield, Va., passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013 at his home.
Born in Bluefield, Va., he was the son of the late Harry Steele and Ruby Ernestine Painter Sarver. Mr. Sarver was a self employed carpenter and he had served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the American Legion of Tazewell and also a member of the Disabled Vets of America. He was loved by all.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William (Bill) Sarver.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Agatha Morgan Sarver. Daughter, Karen Smith of Bluefield, Va. Son, Ricky Sarver of Falls Mills, Va. Stepsons, Mike and James Daniel of Georgia. Stepmother, Frances Presley. Brother, Randall Pete Sarver and wife Eunice of Princeton, W.Va. Sister, Barbara Cox and husband John of Princeton, W.Va. Sister-in-law, Regina Sarver of Bluefield, Va. Granddaughters, Tosha Smith of Bluefield, Va. and Amber Hendrix of Thomaston, Ga. Grandson, Justin Goins of Princeton, W.Va., several nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate Mr. Sarver’s life will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. at the Dudley Memorial Chapel in Bluefield, Va. with Pastor Larry Lusk officiating. Military rites will be conducted at the chapel following the service by the VFW Memorial Post 9696 and the Pocahontas American Legion Post 14. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at the funeral home. A private family burial will take place later.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made to Dudley Memorial Mortuary for Mr. Sarver’s funeral expense.
